Construction of Twelve Mile Ditch at Slate Creek, c1908. People; Organizations Expedition Leaving Dawson in SearchPhotograph shows evidence of efforts to plug hole in ditch in foreground. The leak was probably caused by an ice seam melting, causing a major failure in a portion of the Twelve Mile Ditch system. Sand bagging and staking were used in an attempt to stop the leak. Flume construction was necessary to bypass damaged section. Location is unidentified. See 1984. 234,191, maybe same failure in ditch from different angle.
